A disaster and an addition

The bad monsters attacked Black Bowley at his house. His house at Noisy Creek was destroyed by the bad monsters who came to fight him. Black Bowley won the battle with his purple electricity power, but his house was destroyed and his pet dragon was killed. He was very sad that his dragon was killed, even though it was only his second favorite pet. His most favorite pet, his cheetah, ran away during the battle and didn't help fight, because he is scared of monsters. Black Bowley was sad about his dragon and crying but then the cheetah came back and he was not so sad anymore.

Black Bowley doesn't live at Noisy Creek anymore. He and his brother Stromer (and the cheetah) now live with us. They are both five years old but they are not twins.

Black Bowley and Stromer come from another planet, called super planet.  Stromer has stone powers. When Stromer and Black Bowley combine their powers, they make the great purple electricity stone dragon and can fight off anything.  Stromer was not there during the battle and so they couldn't make it and that is why their house was destroyed. Since K is their brother, he invited them to officially move in with us. They are looking forward to their solstice presents and would like their own beds because the floor is uncomfortable. Aalst, the cheetah is hungry.

Starfish

(Child stumbles across room, walking into objects with eyes wide open)
"Mom, do you know why I can't see anything?"
"Why?"
"It's my brother Black Bowley. He's a starfish and he's stuck on my face"
(Child mimes pulling stuck on starfish of face, walks to hallway, throws imaginary brother starfish far away)
"I'm going to tell him if he wants to give me a starfish hug, he shouldn't do it on my face"
(Carries on conversation with imaginary starfish brother)

Purple Lights

Mom, watch out for the truck with flashing purple lights. That's Black Bowley's rescue vehicle. You have to be careful though, because he's tricky.  You'll think he's coming to rescue you but then he'll actually chase you and bite you. It depends on if he's a dragon or not. Sometimes he's a dragon, and sometimes he's not so, just be careful.

If you see something with flashing purple lights, that also might be the bad guys. So be extra careful. If you realize it's the bad guys because they are shooting at you, you can call for Black Bowley's help and he'll come in his fighter rocket that has red flashing lights and he'll shoot them away and catch them and bring them to jail. He's a police officer sometimes when he's not being a dragon.

Okay then...

Did you notice Black Bowley can walk in the air? Anywhere he needs to go he just goes.

His mouth

Things we were told today about Black Bowley's mouth:

He has about 100 really sharp teeth. He has no gums. Just. Teeth.

His mouth sticks out about this far (12inches or so) to fit all his really sharp teeth.

He can use his teeth to cut down trees or bite bad guys.

He eats wrappers. His teeth are so sharp he doesn't have to take them off.

Things we learned last week:
Black Bowley is his brother.

Black Bowley just turned five and had a birthday party with balloons full of candy.

He eats sticks, trees, bones, glue, stickers. He doesn't have any more of those watermelon robot spiders left at noisy creek because he killed them all with his eye lasers (and ate them, obviously, because he was hungry).

Migration and Puddles

Yesterday: "It's fall, so it's time for Black Bowley to migrate. Did you know he's a bird person? He's going to migrate closer to our house so he can spend more time with me. "

Today, at the pumpkin patch, we encountered a large puddle. It went like this:
Kid: "Mom, do you know what that is?"
Mom: "It looks like a puddle with some algae growing in it."
(Disagreement on if we are looking at algae filled puddle or if I am wrong for an as yet unspecified reason)
Kid: "It's Black Bowley's pee. He peed here. (To his friend) DON'T STEP IN IT! It's poisonous! His pee is poisonous! Walk all the way around it!"

Mandasizing

"This is called mandasizing. It's what Black Bowley calls it when you are doing three things at once." (Said while eating, watching TV, and playing with Legos)

Gathering Speed

"Mom, do you know why I'm so fast now?  Black Bowley ran over me while I was taking a nap.  When he runs over you, his footprints leave his speed behind and you get faster. Watch!" (runs speedily up a hill) "If you want I can ask him to run you over so you could get faster too."

Why we burp

"Do you know why I burp so much?  Black Bowley goes down all my rollers and presses the burp activation button."

Schooldays

"Black Bowley's school is the best. It is so much fun. They have no rules and he gets to do whatever he wants ALL DAY. ALL DAY! He doesn't ever have to do a single thing the teachers ask."

(the small child would like to go to this school)

Black Bowley's Eating Habits

In addition to Black Bowley, the Dragon, and the Noisy Frogs (that keep Black Bowley from sleeping and necessitate him creeping into our house), Noisy Creek is populated with giant mechanical robot spiders.  Black Bowley 'kills the spiders by hitting them with his shovel' and then he 'breaks off the legs and eats them.  And guess what? They taste just like watermelon, not like spider.'

An introduction

We began hearing about Black Bowley around my son's fourth birthday.  In the ensuing months, the stories and facts about this imaginary person, who is not quite a friend, have grown clearer and stranger. Here are some of the basics:

He lives at Noisy Creek. He can't sleep there at night because it's so noisy, so he sneaks into our house, crawls under my son's bed, and then pets our dog all night while she sleeps.  He is 'so sneaky, and so gentle, that she doesn't even know he is there petting her.'

He has a pet dragon. Sometimes the dragon follows us around and we have to be very quiet or the dragon will incinerate us. If I speak too loudly during these times, my son panics.

He's magic.
